About

Angus Curran is my pen name. This whole being an author is a new thing for me. I've come to find late in life that I enjoy writing and telling tall tales. As a fiction author, I feel my main job is to take your brain for a ride. That's my style of writing, I attempt to write very visually as if the story is a movie in your brain.

I've lived in the beautiful state of Oregon since 1978. I went to Community College in Astoria and was for a while an Oceanographic Technician. I worked in that field for a couple of years before going to back to college to study electronics. That led to me being a electronics tech -- then a design engineer -- and finally working in IT for a local school district before retiring. I've worked with many people across many different roles and cultures. I'm grateful to have met and worked with them. I've at times pulled parts and pieces of people or places from my past to cast into my stories. I feel lucky to be able to do so.

I'm also lucky to have many people helping in my writing journey from family to friends. And to those who have been test readers for me -- I cannot thank you all enough. But specifically none of this would be feasible without the support of my wonderful wife Jan who not only supports my writing but is my first pass editor. And she sees some crazy shit.

It's never too late to try something new and stretch your wings. Believe in yourself and take flight into your wildest dreams.

Be safe and enjoy the ride.

-Angus
